Capstone Project Checkpoint

Literature Review

A literature review refers to what has been published on the topic under investigation. Students should describe and synthesize the major studies in the particular area, and show the relationship between the student’s research project and what has been studied by others in the field. In capstone project for language studies, students write a separate section of literature review. However, the literature review can be a part of the introduction to a research paper, essay or report.
