Our Programme
We provide this articulation programme, also known as a top-up programme, as an academic pathway for Higher Diploma / Associate Degree holders to qualify for a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in English for business communication.
Our Aims
We serve suitably-qualified individuals who seek to enhance their English language competence for the multilingual and multicultural workplace of the 21st century. Our programme enables learners to:

acquire an academic grounding in English language studies;

discover ways to explore the dynamic potential of the English language; and
-
formulate practical solutions to communicative problems in business service situations.
Programme Mode & Duration
Mode: Part-time
(You will normally attend classes on 2-3 evenings each week and during weekends.)
Duration:
-
fast track: 2 years (6 semesters, including 2 summer semesters)

normal track: 3 years (6 - 9 semesters)
-
maximum duration: 6 years (6 - 18 semesters)
Entrance Requirements
We invite you to apply for entry to this BA (Hons) programme if you already have, or expect to have by the time of entry:
-
a Higher Diploma or an Associate Degree in language studies, communication/media studies, business/management studies, or a related field; or
-
an equivalent qualification.
We also encourage you to apply if your academic qualification is in an unrelated field but you have relevant work experience.

Programme Structure & Subjects
To qualify for the BA (Hons) award, you normally need to achieve 60 credits (or 45 credits if are a Higher Diploma graduate from our department) by completing the required subjects in three intellectual cores and a range of elective subjects in English linguistics and English for professional communication.
